About
Kyle Morris is a journalist and traveller with a professional background spanning business reporting, publishing, and travel. With over a decade of experience in international journalism and a passion for exploration, Kyle brings depth, precision, and curiosity to every story he tells.
He holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Chester, where he developed a strong base in news writing, media ethics, and storytelling. Following graduation, Kyle began his career in London, working for three years at Cision. There, he gained valuable insight into media analysis and communications at one of the UK’s leading media intelligence firms.
Seeking new horizons both professionally and personally, Kyle relocated to Barcelona, where he spent more than five years at Dow Jones Newswires, a division of The Wall Street Journal. He initially worked as a reporter, covering real-time financial news for global markets, before progressing to the role of publishing editor.
Parallel to his newsroom career, Kyle has travelled extensively, visiting more than 70 countries. He has developed a keen eye for the nuance of place — whether capturing the rhythm of everyday life in remote corners of the world or chronicling epic journeys.
Among his most notable adventures are a solo cycling expedition from London to Istanbul, covering thousands of kilometres across diverse terrains and cultures, and the 820-kilometre trek along the GR11 trail, traversing the Pyrenees from the Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean Sea. These feats reflect not only physical endurance but a deep commitment to immersive, slow travel — the kind that yields rich, first-hand insight.
Today, Kyle focuses on freelance travel journalism, combining his reporting expertise with his passion for the outdoors, global culture, and adventure. His work has appeared in outlets including Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal, and he continues to seek out compelling stories that bridge the personal and the global.
